Governor Profiles

Charles Evans

Charles has lived in Shiplake for 6 years. Originally from Wales, he has lived in London, Aberdeen and Lowestoft. Charles has worked as an engineer in the oil industry for all his career, which involved a lot of travel to interesting places. He recently volunteered to become a Governor and was fortunate to find a place at Caversham Park Primary School. Charles decided to become a Governor in order to give something back to the local community.

Mark Rebeiro

Mark has lived in Emmer Green for seven years and is a recently retired accountant with many years experience in professional services, largely in the City. Mark is also a qualified hockey coach who spent twenty years coaching junior players at club and county level and is particularly interested in getting children involved in sport at an early age. He hopes to contribute to the local community by being a governor at the school. 

Mrs. Twyford

Mrs Twyford is a staff governor and Deputy Headteacher at Caversham Park. She has worked  as a teacher at the school since 2007 and has taught across a range of year groups and key stages. Mrs Twyford is passionate about education and providing the best for all the children in the school. She particularly enjoys supporting children in the early stages of their learning journey in Reception and Key Stage One and laying the foundations for future their success. In her role as Deputy Headteacher Mrs Twyford  works closely with all members of school staff and is well placed to represent them as a governor. 

Devjeet Hunjan

Devjeet is a former pupil at Caversham Park Primary School and his children have attended the school. Devjeet has previous experience in Law Enforcement and Regulation. He decided to become a Parent Governor in order to support the school, be involved in its future and to contribute to the local community.

Kamal Khan

Kamal has acquired an extensive background in IT Governance, Risk, and Audit through a career covering multiple industries, such as Utilities, Banking, and Oil and Gas. His experience also includes teaching at both University and School levels. Currently, he is primarily involved in coaching, consulting, and working with SEND children.  Hevolunteered to be a Governor to contribute my skills and expertise to help the school. 

The Role of a Governor at Caversham Park Primary School

Governors at our school aim to help raise aspirations, expectations and standards of achievement in the school. We promote and support equal opportunities for all members of the School community. Broadly, governors have three core responsibilities

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction

  • Holding the Head Teacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils

  • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent

The Structure of the Governing Body

In addition to meeting six times a year as a Full Governing Body, the following committee also exists, which also meets three times a year: Resources Committee

Our Personnel & Pay committee meets as required.
